All our gates are manufactured from Douglas Fir, which is grown locally in the South West or Wales. Douglas Fir is a very suitable wood for gates as it is subject to low shrinkage and has good stability. It is strong and elastic. The wood is also resistant against fungal and insect infestation and exhibits good natural durability when exposed to the elements. All the wood used for making gates is treated with Wolmanit CX-8F wood preservative, which is triple treated in the pressure treatment plant.
